IT Support Specialist : Houston

Job Summary

Provide Application and User Support for a rapidly growing company, across a variety of new projects. You will be focused on end-to-end IT support for all Houston based departments. This position will be the IT point of contact for the office to resolve daily technology issues as well as provide support to project implementation using in-house or vendor applications.

Position Functions

  • Business-as-usual support, including WWM in-house and vendor applications.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new staff, both hardware/software requirements and appropriate permissions dictated by Dept Management.
  • Troubleshooting day-to-day issues as they arise, performing triage/issue prioritization.
  • Ensuring Houston business functions are exposed to minimal downtime.
  • Determining system efficiency and functionality by liaising with internal departments and end-users.
  • Reporting to Management.
  • Providing root cause analysis of issues and long-term appropriate fixes.
  • Efficiently integrating new systems, programs, and applications with business operations and services.
  • Ensuring that computer hardware remains compatible with system enhancements and updates.
  • Promoting system efficiency and security to IT standards and best practice.
  • Liaising with our external l infrastructure partners as required for issue resolution, via ticketing system, ensuring quick and complete resolution.
  • Communicate and synchronize IT goals and milestones with Austin office.
  • Ability to support Houston and Brookshire office. This position is expected to travel to the Brookshire and Austin offices as needed.


Requirements

  • A degree in computer science or information technology or at least 5 years’ experience in the field.
  • Extensive experience in a support role in a related industry.
  • Knowledge of office networking and office hardware support.
  • Ensuring optimal system functionality and performance.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI and ability to troubleshoot issues and propose automation enhancements.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices.
  • Ability to keep up with IT advancements and collaborate with the IT team.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and in team settings as required.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Knowledge of O365, including SharePoint, Exchange, Azure AD.


Advantageous Requirements:

  • Experience in the field of Oil and Gas an advantage.
  • Any exposure to SCADA operations.
  • Setting up of IT office operations from the ground up.
  • Experience dealing with external IT vendors.
