Accounting Manager : Austin | Houston

Job Summary

This position will be a member of the WhiteWater accounting department in Austin or Houston. Responsibilities include preparation of accounting transactions associated with full cycle general ledger accounting, cost allocation, monthly equity method investment activity, revenue, debt/interest rate swaps, fixed assets, leases, direct and overhead billing, and coordinator for property and sales/use. Position will assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

Position Functions

  • Setup, monitor and account for reimbursable construction projects
  • Work closely with operations and engineering to properly capture changes to contracts, payments terms (cash flow analysis) and underlying asset/construction plans
  • Perform JV accounting functions including calculation and processing payments and/or overhead and direct billing allocations
  • Calculate, record capex accruals and manage the fixed asset and WIP subledgers
  • Ensure cash management is compliant with underlying debt and deposit account control agreements
  • Manage, review and occasionally prepare borrowing requests, including collecting data for operational and construction progress reporting to comply with debt and JV agreements as well as review interest and principal payments to ensure accuracy
  • Manage and review debt payments and capex transfer requests for multiple entities
  • Assist with the tracking of interest rate hedge settlements and accurate recording in the general ledger
  • Oversee completeness and accuracy of capital transfer requests for direct lenders to vendor payments
  • Review transportation contracts and document revenue in accordance with ASC 606
  • Prepare cash flow analysis reports forecasting monthly needs
  • Document and review accounting processes for internal control and external audit
  • Assist with external vendor and auditor inquiries
  • Manage monthly close process, which include monthly reconciliation preparation and review while maintaining internal control requirements
  • Assist with special projects when they arise and are assigned


Requirements

  • 7-12 years relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • CPA or CPA eligible preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have combination of public accounting and industry experience in construction or energy
  • Strong analytical and research skills and ability to produce results under tight deadlines
  • Ability to apply strong attention to detail and multi-task
  • Experienced in accounting and reporting for multiple joint venture projects focusing on operating and investments and new projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and departments, as well as with external representatives.
